Safeguard: two partitions of encrypted disk?

Hi there, I'd like to ask whether you think / know if it's possible to merge two partitions of one encrypted harddisk to one single partition without decrypting -> encrypting the whole data. We're currently using Safeguard 6.0.0.1.31 and would like to merge the two partitions using some tool in Windows 7. What would happen if you took let's say gparted or similar, boot from CD and rejoin the püartitions there? Does Safeguard recognize the changes? Will it kepp working / booting the system? • Hi Alex,

resizing any partition on a machine where SafeGuard Enterprise Volume Based Encryption is installed is not supported.

So you would have to uninstall (decrypt), perform the changes to the partitions and reinstall (encrypt).

Please note that SafeGuard Enterprise Fast Initial Encryption mode will always be used on the decryption of the disk and could also be used on the encryption process, when you specify it withthin an encryption policy (Device Protection policy | Volume Based Settings | Fast initial Encryption > Yes". So using fast initial encrpytion will lower the overall encryption/deryption time.

    Hope that helps,

    ChrisD
