Where to Start

Hello -- A friend of mine was working on a word document -- save  it on a usb drive -- he he went to open it on a different computer and  the file would not open -- I got the usb drive and tried to open it on my computer and it also did not open -- word did  display the first 100 or so bytes  and  it noted that the file was  encrypted with

SOPHOS software --  Is there some sort of add-on I can use to decode the file ?  Thanks

  • Hello fpefpe, You will need to return the USB drive to your friend, and have then update their device protection policy on the Safeguard server for Safeguard Enterprise to include "Copy SGPortable to Target" which will allow it to be read on non-safeguard machines provided the key assignment is set up correctly to use any key in the user's keyring.
