[Sophos Notification] Release of patches to address security vulnerabilities in SafeGuard Windows Clients (SGN/SGE/SGLC)

Overview

A set of Windows client patches for multiple SafeGuard products has been released to address a number of security issues. Some patches in addition contain selected Hotfixes and compatibility improvements for Sophos Central Intercept X 2.0.

Applies to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)

SafeGuard Enterprise – all versions and modules
SafeGuard Easy – all versions and modules
SafeGuard LAN Crypt – all versions

Impact

Exploitation of those vulnerabilities requires running a malicious program on the target machine and can result in privilege escalation. This vulnerability is not remotely exploitable (i.e. over the network).
