SafeGuard 5.50.80 Client Encrypted Computer Cannot Read Bitlocker-To-Go Encrypted USB. Is it supported?

Hi all,

We're still running SG 5.50.80 in our environment.

Before the machine was installed with SG 5.50.80 and encrypted, the machine was able to read BitlockerToGo encrypted USB drive.

After the host machine was encrypted withSG Client 5.50.80, it can no longer read a BitlockerToGo encrypted USB drive.

Is it supported by SG 5.50.80? If it is, how do I go about getting the machine to read the USB key? Thank you.

  • Hi ehsu,

    during the installation of SafeGuard Enterprise, the BitLocker To Go functionality of Windows 7 becomes deactivated. In order to re-enable BitLocker To Go you must change the following registry keys:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\FVE]
    "RDVConfigureBDE"=dword:00000001
    "RDVAllowBDE"=dword:000000001
    "RDVDisableBDE"=dword:00000001
