POP and IMAP Secure does not working

Hi folks,

I have a XG device V18 with POP3, POP3S, IMAP and IMAPS scanning enabled according this KB

https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/123274

We tried connect to office365, gmail without success, even MTA mode and Legacy Mode.

The email client only got success when the POlicy Rule is disabled.

Does someone has any info about this kind problem ?

regards

Carlos

  • Hi

Sorry by delay, we was doing a factory reset after suggestion by sophos support.
And after it, the scanning working as expected.

  • We're having the same exact problem. Followed the email setup article and additional PDF documents to the letter. Verified both the CA and the default certificates were imported into our CA on all windows machines. We even went as far as to regenerate. We're using legacy mode at the moment which should act as a transparent proxy. We're on the latest version of V18. We get an error in outlook (0x800CCC1A) the moment we try to enable scanning on POP/IMAP/SMTP although sending seems to work fine, receiving does not.

I find it a little ridiculous that the solution was to factory default the firewall in a enterprise environment like ours that's almost impossible to do. We have to pull teeth just to reboot the damn thing let alone purge and start from scratch. The firewall logs show the connection is allowed and I have triple checked our NAT rule. This issue makes absolutely no sense to me.

  • Have there been a solution posted for this issue?

  • Hi,

V18.0.3 MR-3 is supposed to have a fix for iMap scanning. SMTP/s scanning works on my MAC mini and my wife's MBP ,she is using both macmail and outlook 2016.
