Migration von ASG120 auf SG135

Hallo,

wir betreiben zur Zeit noch die ASG120 und möchten nun auf die SG135 Migrieren.

 

meine Fragen sind folgende:

Kann ich ein Backup auf der neuen SG135 restoren?

habe ich alle alten Einstellungen wieder?

Gibt es dazu Whitepapers/Checklisten?

    Hallo Martin,

    Erstmal herzlich willkommen hier in der Community !

    (Sorry, my German-speaking brain isn't creating thoughts at the moment. [:(])

    Here's the checklist I made for my customers:

    1. Do a quick, temporary install so that the new device can download Up2Dates if needed.
    2. Apply the desired Up2Dates (if possible, stop at 9.508 today) and do a factory reset.
    3. On the current UTM in use, on the 'Hardware' tab of 'Interfaces', assign the MAC as the Virtual MAC for the NICs in use.
    4. Create a backup and load it onto a USB memory stick.
    5. Reboot the new device with the USB memory stick in place and remove the memory stick after the boot is complete.
    6. Connect a PC to the new device, upload the license for the new device and then disconnect the PC, leaving the new device powered up.
    7. Power down the old device and move the cables to the new device.  Done.

    I agree with going to the SG 135 if you plan any growth.  The SG 125 doesn't have anything over the SG 115 except an additional 4 NICs.  With a quad-core CPU, the SG 135 will outperform the faster dual-core CPU used in the SG 210 in some situations.

    Man muss dazu sagen, dass die Checkliste von Bob so ziemlich alles abdeckt, im Normalfall ist ein Wechsel aber komplett unkritisch, so lange das neue Gerät genau so viele Interfaces hat wie das alte. In dem Fall kann es erst mal etwas klemmen.

    Ich mache es eigentlich immer quick&dirty:

    - neue Lizenz aktivieren (in Eurem Fall in myutm das Appliance-Upgrade auf SG135 machen), neues Lizenzfile downloaden

    - Backup der bestehenden UTM erstellen und downloaden

    - neue UTM mit SUSI-Stick auf aktuellste Firmware patchen (entspricht Bobs Punkt 1+2)

    - Rechner mit USB-LAN-Adapter mit der neuen UTM verbinden, Grundkonfiguration vornehmen (Backup einspielen, neues Lizenzfile hochladen)

    - Kabel umstecken und das alte Gerät ausbauen/abbauen

    Ist prinzipiell kein Hexenwerk. Du hast beim Wechsel von UTM120 auf SG135 auch keine Differenzen was die Interfaces betrifft. Etwaige Neuzuordnungen sollte es dabei nicht geben.
