I have a customer we're setting up that uses Azure AD; conflicting info regarding setup....

Setting of AD Sync for a customer that has Central Email and Intercept, etc. They would like to use Azure sync; when I read the installation guide it says the option will not be available if the customer has any other products than Central Email, and that Azure sync does not work with any other Sophos Central products.  The article is dated August 2018.  However, it is an available option?  Can I use it?  Has it been updated to make that work correctly with other Central products and they have just failed to note it in the Release notes and/or this KB article?
