I just want to verify that the upgrade of Pure Message for Exchange 2013 is as simple as running the installer on top of the existing installation of 4.0.2. Is that correct?

Yes, You can start installation on top of the existing setup. NO need to change or edit anything for existing setup. Just run your new software on over existing. That's all. No need additional job...
