SMC app does not auto enroll so IT admin cannot complete install without changing users

When we are installing the Sophos MDM on an iOS on behalf of a user the SMC app does not enroll and will not accept the QR if you have already used the token to enroll the device first.

How do we get the app to configure?

We currently have to change the user to an IT admin, get another email with a fresh QR code to enable the SMC app to work then reassign the user back to the intended user to complete the implementation.

There must be a smoother way.
