Sophos Mobile - Nightly service restart may not work anymore after installing Microsoft July Rollup package

Dear Customers,

After installing the Microsoft July Rollup package on a Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2 the nightly restart of the Sophos Mobile service may not succeed.

Within the smcproxy.log located at %MDM_HOME%\wildfly\standalone\log\ the following error can be found:

12.07.2018 04:05:05,216 ERROR [SmcProxyService] SMC Proxy could not be started
java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind
at sun.nio.ch.Net.bind0(Native Method)
at sun.nio.ch.Net.bind(Net.java:433)
at sun.nio.ch.Net.bind(Net.java:425)
at sun.nio.ch.ServerSocketChannelImpl.bind(ServerSocketChannelImpl.java:223)

A complete restart of the operating system is required to be able to access the Sophos Mobile web console again

This issue seems to be caused by one of the "Known issues" listed within the details of the July Rollup package.

If the issue occurs, the Sophos Mobile Proxy service cannot be stopped correctly. Due to that, the Service restart completely fails.

We have published a KB article with all the information, please refer to, https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/132418.

Thanks,
