Removing Malware from a Mac OS X

To remove threats from your Mac read article 118117. If clean up fails two common reasons on a Mac are that the item detected is:

  • • in a Time Machine back up and SAV does not have permission to delete
  • • attached to an email and deleting the attachment could potentially affecting the email/mailbox

There you need to manually delete the files. Check the log file for the scan (community.sophos.com/.../9869) and ntoe the location. Then use the videos below that explain what to do based on location.
