This article provides information on calculating the memory utilization on the Sophos XG Firewall.
Applies to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s) Sophos Firewall
The formula to calculate the memory utilization is as follows:
Total Free memory = Actual Free memory + Cache memory + buffers
Total Used memory = Total Memory - Total Free Memory
Value of Used Memory in percentage (%) = Total Used Memory / Total Memory *100
On the Sophos XG Firewall, run the command in the Advance Shell.
A data of the memory used on the firewall will be displayed:
Total Free Memory = 253772 + 1135300 + 142588 = 1,531,660 KB
Total Used Memory = 3939056 - 1531660 = 2,407,396 KB
Value of Used Memory in percentage (%) = Total Used Memory / Total Memory *100 = 61 % approx.
Note: The calculation is the same for SNMP for memory utilization.
