This article provides information on the behavior of SAV for Linux when migrating from one Central management console to another.
Applies to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s) Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux 9.15.0Sophos Linux Security 10.4.0
When migrating from one Central management portal to another, the command "registerMCS" provided by the new Central portal needs to be run twice to take affect. This is known behavior with the current release of SAV for Linux.
When registerMCS is called with a valid URL and Token then these correct details are stored in the mcs.config file. If registerMCS is subsequently called with a new URL and new Token then the connection process will ignore the new values in the command line and instead use those already stored in the mcs.config file. After this connection is successful using the stored values the new URL and new Token used in the command are then stored in the mcs.config file.
Because of this, the same registerMCS command needs to be done twice, once to load the new values in to the mcs.config file and then to use the new values to register with the new Central portal.
