The Recipient Verification feature is useful to block undelivered mail's recipients on a mail relay host that does not have a list of all valid recipient addresses. When a recipient probe fails, Sophos XG Firewall rejects mail for the recipient address, if a recipient probe succeeds, Sophos XG Firewall accepts mail for the recipient address.
This article describes the steps on how to enable and configure Recipient Verification feature.

Sophos XG Firewall has to be configured in MTA mode, please refer to Sophos XG Firewall: How to configure Email Protection in MTA mode for detailed instructions.
Go to Email > Policies and edit the used SMTP Route & Scan policy or create a new . Enable SPAM Protection and set Recipient Verification to use With Callout (Recommended) option.
