Sophos Central Device Encryption fails to install on SafeGuard Enterprise clients with the following message:
Sophos Central Device Encryption failed to install
In Sophos Central Admin, the Events page shows the following error message:
Failed to install enc: module full disk encryption of Sophos Safe Guard Enterprise must not be installed.
The client health status shows as Red until this issue is resolved.
This behavior is expected. There is a check that prevents the installation of Sophos Central Device Encryption if SafeGuard Enterprise Device Encryption is already installed and vice versa. The Health service checks to see if the Sophos Device Encryption Service is running and reports back an error because it cannot find the service due to the product component not being installed.
To resolve this issue, remove Device Encryption from the client.

To remove Device Encryption from the client, do the following:
NOTE: You can install Sophos Central Device Encryption alongside SafeGuard Enterprise File Encryption (i.e. Synchronized Encryption/Location Based File Encryption modules).
