In my firewall I did not enabled the ipv6 to any port. But still firewall releasing the ipv6 IP address to the devices like Mobiles and IPV6 enabled systems. I am unable to trace where it is releasing and why. Could you please any one help in this regard.
Hello there,
Make sure you also didn't configure IPv6 DHCP server on the XG. Also, how are you checking if the XG is the one providing the IP?
Regards,
I ssaune you are talking about an XG firewall?though your description does not sound like an XG? Your description is more than likely coming from your mobile device connected to your network.

Yes It is an XG Firewall.
There is an wi-fi routers configured as bridge mode/Access points. I am getting both IPV's IPs (v4 & v6) to my mobile.

Login to the router and disable the IPv6 function.

Hi, It was already disabled to all firewall ports, but still devices are getting the IPv6 IPs. I am unable to trace that.
IPv6 are getting through port no 4, found the table at Neighbors(ARP-NDP), It is an lan port but not enabled the IPv6. But still IPv6 are releasing. I tried flush and delete option too in Neighbors(ARP-NDP) no use. Again IPv6 are releasing within a few seconds.
you don't have any IPv6 rules or tunnels in place?
If it s coming through port 4 more than likely some one has installed a IP4 to IPv6 tunnel.
No, There is no rules and tunnels. I verified all maximum scenarios. Everywhere it is configured as port 4. Under the Port 4, IPv6 is not enabled and even not configured too. Can you please suggest any alternative solutions to trace this. The main issue is unnecessarily network traffic occurring for IPv6. Due to of this process network is getting very slow sometimes. I would like to avoid or block this IPv6. But it is not showing anywhere as configure.
Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!
Try following this KB on how to capture ipv6 traffic on the XG. It should help you identify where the traffic is coming from.
Regars,
Hi emmosophos,
Thank you for your reply, I am find the same but I would like to stop the lan traffic, like IPv6 intra network traffic should be not occurred in any manner.
