WIFI failure overnight

Hi folks,

about 2359 on the 22nd January (Australian time) my IoT wifi network stopped broadcasting. The time is from the system logviewer file from when the weather station last updated its IP address. The weather station performs and IP request and release every 10 minutes when performing server updates.

1/. I have restarted both APs

2/. I have replaced all APs and still have the same issue

3/. I have restarted all switches

4/. I have restarted the XG.

I replaced an APP55 and AP55c with another AP55 and an APX120, none are broadcasting they all show green lights. I know the ethernet network the APs are connected to works, I updated a number  of applications on the TV over the ethernet connection.

What else can I check? I also note the APX120 I have on CM wireless is connecting at low speeds around 100-150 instead of 433.

  • Hi folks,

an update. I have created a new wifi network on my main user network and the APX120 is not broadcasting.

Now further investigation of the logs shows a new version of the AP firmware being installed, it is the same version that was deployed during v18.0.4 MR-4 upgrade.

So what was in the re-released wifi firmware 11.0.014-1 that still has the same release date of 3rd November 2020?

At the moment my security, power controller and weather station are off air.

At the moment to get my home working I will have to register the second APX120 in CM wireless, what a pain.

A number of these devices are going to be pains to re-configure for the new CM settings.

  • I have re-created all my SSIDs and slowly getting some performance restored. The APX120 for IoT even connected to the CM Wireless still behaves with poor connection speeds.

What a waste of a morning.

  • We saw similar issues with our REDs with Wifi on our SG and a few testing REDs with Wifi on the XG. On the XG it was a few days after the update (or the first reboot of the red after the updates ???). Nobody did explain this to us but my colleague also endet up in recreating the SSIDs.
We lost our WPA2, WPA2 Enterprise WLANs.
