Hi,
is it possible in SFOS 17.5.14 MR-14-1 to configure an interface with tagged VLANs only? I don't want to have an IP on the physical interface (untagged).
You do not have to do this anymore in V18.
V18 allows a VLAN interface on a non configured Interface.
(Be aware, do not remove the config of the hardware interface after placing VLANs. That will remove…
The physical interface has to be active, you can create a /32 address on it.

Thanks. I feared that...
Technically it is not necessary to have an IP address bound to an interface to set it active.
i theory you're right, but I can confirm that when I configured a wan interface a for an ISP, the Interface had to have an IP Assigned to it to allow the config of the VLAN to connect to the ISP, so I configured 128.0.0.1/32.
XG & UTM Architect (Systems: XG v18 & UTM 9.7 - Virtual, HW & SW)Curious enough to take it apart, skilled enough to put it back together, Clever enough to hide the extra parts when I'm Done!
(Be aware, do not remove the config of the hardware interface after placing VLANs. That will remove the VLANs as well!)

thanks for this, good to know.
Is it possible in V18MR3 to have a single NIC with untagged being WAN and tagged being internal? I have 2 ACEPCAK2 which would be fun to test the home version on but it only has 1 NIC. Its a 2.2GHz Celeron with 4GB RAM 64GB eMMC and 120 GB 2.5 in SATA so it should be a fine little box - just only has one Intel NIC in it.
