XG V18 MR3

Hello Sophos,
can we still expect the XG V18 MR 3 this week ?

  • The DPI proxy is completely broken it blocks randon stuff due to incompatibilities.

    All of them: reason="HTTP pipelined request encountered."

    And I have hundreds of this in my logs for all kind of services, I can't imagine the trouble that this might be causing in some companies withouth knowing where the problem is.

     

     

    Let alone the SSL offloading which needs a lot of tune-up.

    Known bug, can you go to Device Console and try:

    set http_proxy relay_invalid_http_traffic on

  • Thanks, where it's documented? is there a KB?

    I have reported this several times, even engineers from Sophos have been looking at it, and this is the first time I have a real answer.

     

    Do you know when it will be fixed?

  • Followed up with the development team on this, and here's the info I was provided with:

    HTTP pipelined request encountered should be a very rare occurrence. Or rather, it might be a common occurrence but only with specific traffic.  For example, some specific Netflix devices (TV's) do this, and for those the setting relay_invalid_http_traffic is available.
     
    During EAP there was one customer who had lots of "HTTP pipelines request encountered" in lots of different traffic.  This is definitely not normal and not what other people are experiencing. I do not recall the reason but the development team could never follow up with the customer. Either it was because they didn't respond, or we were waiting to retest in GA, or some other reason.
     
    My recommendation for anyone with is getting a LOT of "HTTP pipelined request encountered" on lots of different traffic, please wait for SFOS v18 MR3 to be released. Once it's installed and if you are still having the same problems, please raise a support case and reach out to me to share your support case ID. Also ensure to mention this thread.
