Cross Origin Resource Sharing is denied

Hi,

We currently have a strange issue that if users are using the proxy for login to a certain site (for example my.problem.com), they can not go any further to a subsite anymore (for example operational.problem.com).

Because I can not see any blocks on the proxy itself I hope anyone here has experience with it and tell me what we can do about it.

It is also good to know the issue does not always happen.

If the issue does occur. we see the following error in the browser if we turn on the developer options in IE:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SCRIPT7002: XMLHttpRequest: Network Error 0x80070005, Access is denied

File: gebruikersbeheer

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A simple google search tells me this is something to be solved on a website itself.

But the strange thing is that if users do not use the proxy and use the default gateway of the network, the issue is not seen anymore.

Does anybody here has experience with the same sort of issue?

  • Unfortunately there are many things that could cause this issue.   Your best bet is to either a: set up logging to a syslog server.. then see this page .. http://swa.sophos.com/webhelp/swa/concepts/InterpretingLogFiles.html  see the rsn, s= and act= fields..

b: if your in transparent mode, configure the browser to explicitly proxy off of the appliances ip address.  (in internet options in windows or ie)

c: if the site is https, check it out using https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html  if the cert grades low you may have validation errors.

If you are still stuck or its not working, then you may need to call support and have an engineer live monitor the site well you access it.

It's not really possible to properly troubleshoot this issue via the forums.
