Generall questions about Sophos APs

Hello all,

if got some questions related to Sophos APs.

1) We want to buy a few APs. Later we plan also to buy a UTM or XG. Is it possible to use Sophos APs standalone (without a UTM or a XG, with less features of cause).

2) Also for home it looks interresting. Is it possible to use one (or even more) Sophos APs together with a home licensed UTM or XG ?

Thanks in advanced.

  • Hi, Jesus, and welcome to the UTM Community!

That's a discussion to have with one or more resellers.

Is there any document that shows the concurrent sessiones supported by every Sophos AP model?

There is no such document, at least not publicly available.

As a rule of thumb use number in AP model as a guideline for the total number of RECOMMENDED users. For example, you can put AP55 in an environment with 30-40 advanced users who are doing intensive surfing, but also in a conference room with 200 user seats who connects to the network with their mobile/tablet devices.

  • Hi and welcome,
