MTU 1450 Auto-Created Guest Network?

Can anyone tell me why the UTM creates the guest network with an MTU of 1450 instead of a 1500?

I had a client who reported that surfing on the guest network would fail to goto some sites while on the private network, the access to the same sites would work. Opened a case with support and the resolution as to change the MTU on the guest wireless interface to 1500.  The resolution offered by support does indeed resolve the issue.

My question - WHY would the UTM setup the guest wifi interface with an MTU of 1500?

  • There was an issue, but I think that bug has been squashed.  You can set it back to 1500 now.

Thanks Bob!!!  Already done that. Just thought it would be good to put something in the BB in case it could help someone else.
