MTU 1450 Auto-Created Guest Network?

Can anyone tell me why the UTM creates the guest network with an MTU of 1450 instead of a 1500?

I had a client who reported that surfing on the guest network would fail to goto some sites while on the private network, the access to the same sites would work. Opened a case with support and the resolution as to change the MTU on the guest wireless interface to 1500. The resolution offered by support does indeed resolve the issue.

My question - WHY would the UTM setup the guest wifi interface with an MTU of 1500?

Setup script typo most likely.

Digging around, I found that the change was made 9.306-ish time frame, to address the separate zone wireless network performance issue.

There was an issue, but I think that bug has been squashed. You can set it back to 1500 now.

There was an issue, but I think that bug has been squashed. You can set it back to 1500 now.Cheers - Bob
