Block Dropbox Application

Hi Guys,

I'm Trying to block Dropbox Application and allow users to access dropbox from web, if i use to block dropbox from application control it works and dropbox application client blocked but also blocked access from web browser. so any help in my case.

Hi Ahmed,

As you are trying to block a Web request for Dropbox You need to configure and add all the URL(s) (resolving to dropbox) in block website option inside Web Protection. To do that, navigate through Web Protection> Filter Policy> Filter Action> Websites>Block these website.

If you consult #2 in Rulz, you will see that Application Control comes after the HTTP Proxy, so, no, it's not possible to block the phone app but not web traffic unless the phones are on a separate subnet from your in-house computers.

Just curious, what's the difference between allowing Dropbox via the app and via a browser?
