*Unofficial* 3G/UMTS Devices Compatibility List

The OFFICIAL compatibility list is currently at 3G/UMTS devices supported by Sophos RED10 rev.2/3 and Sophos RED50 rev.1

As it does not contain all possible sticks, I've created this thread...

Please don't post questions like "will X work?" here. Open a new thread if you have a question about buying hardware not already mentioned here.
Open a new thread if you have an installation or other question.

I propose that we post here with our tested configurations, Astaro versions, and success or problems, using this template:

Template for copying/pasting:
Status: [Working|NOT Working] currently using at [RED10|RED50]
Astaro Version(s) tested:
Total Cost: (optional, please specify currency, retail|used, and date)
Comments / Notes:

Note that one can EDIT their post later to add changes/corrections instead of posting a 'correction' post.

Please don't post questions like "will X work?" here. Open a new thread if you have a question about buying hardware not already mentioned here.

Thanks!
Andreas

    The next rivet......

    D-Link DWM-221

The rivet isn't one anymore. With FW 9.603-1 this stick is accepted and works.

  • Some news from the hands-on trenches....

In deep desperation I just upgraded our UTM to 9.605-1 because of the problems with Huawei sticks. But that didn't help. Usually I don't do that immediately after publishing, at first I upgrade my private UTM and have some closer looks.

I forced the RED's connected to wired internet to reload their config (After they downloaded the new firmware), but the denial of Huawei sticks remains.

But a new stick came into game. It is actually available, I just bought it yesterday.

    D-Link DWM-222

Status: [Working] currently using at [RED15W]
    Astaro Version(s) tested: 9.605-1
    Total Cost: From 55,00 to 72,00 €
    Comments / Notes:

It is a little weird that this stick only connects if the target UTM is named with it's IP and not with the DNS name. Operation mode is standard/unified. Probably a network provider problem? I just don't know.
