How many remote networks?

Hi,

the RED device is very interesting for us.

I have seen the RED device has 4 interfaces.

Will I be able to configure each single interface to provide different networks in our branch offices?
Actually I need 2 different networks in each remote office.

Regards
Kay

  • It's many to one, only limited by the processing power of the main ASG... I think you can have up to 25 or so on a 220, for example.

As with all sizing questions, the most accurate answer is "it depends".  As Bruce mentioned, you can connect multiple device to an ASG depending on the ASG model- but the amount of traffic flowing over the RED interfaces, and the services acting on that traffic will vary from installation to installation.  If you are pumping a lot of traffic through each RED, and performing IPS and Web Security on all of it, that will certainly exhaust resources faster than a bunch of REDs just moving point-of-sale terminal data.  Keep in mind that bandwidth may also limit you before RED or ASG limits are hit.
