Ips num_instances | Performance

 Hello,

 

I was wondering about the output 'cc get ips num_instances = 0' 

I mean yah I know 0 means default but this server has 4 cores: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2403 0 @ 1.80GHz

In a manner of performance would you guys recommend me to set it to 2 or to 4 ?

    The default equates to one less than the number of cores.  In the case of a quad core, the number is 3 and that is optimal.

    I'm saying that the default, 0, means "one less than the number of cores" - so, you already have it set at "3" with the default and Sophos says that is optimal.
