QoS settings within SSL VPN tunnel

Hello everybody!

Is it possible to prioritize particular traffic within a Sophos SSL VPN tunnel? And if yes, how ca I do that?

Background: We are using a softphone on our employees laptops. The corresponding traffic - in particular sip and rtp (udp) with a particular dscp - has to be routed through the ssl vpn tunnel, but shares this tunnel with other traffic from other applications.

Any pointers are appreciated, thanks in advance!

Kind regards

Ken Adams

  • Hallo Ken,

With an SSL VPN tunnel, all you can do is use Download Throttling on the Internal interface to limit inbound trafic from the LAN after a rule for the VoIP traffic limiting it to the speed of the interface.

With IPsec you can bind the IPsec Connection to your WAN interface and do complete QoS.
