Webadmin and SSH access stop working

I am using Sophos UTM 9 version 9.403-4.

Recently wedadmin and ssh access will stop working after a day of uptime.

Wedadmin gives me a 503 service temporarily unavailable error and attempts to login through SSH will tell me "access denied".

If I pull the power on the device and then plug it back in to force a restart, all services come back and are available. They will operate fine for about a day or so before not working.

All other services function normally.

Hi Tyler,

Do you face this issue every day? Is it that constant?

Please post the following log files:

1. System messages

2. Service monitor deamon

3. Fallback

Yes, it is daily. Here it is less than 24 hours after a reboot and already I cannot access webadmin or SSH. I have to pull the power and restart the system just to get access to the log files that you requested.

Hi Tyler,

I didn't find anything suspicious in the logs. Is your whole network down or only the Web Admin and SSH services are unavailable?

Everything else works. Only WebAdmin and SSH are unavailable.

Hi,

I have the same issue, but in my case the SSH is working and I can just reset the httpd.

did you get any answer on why this heppens?

I discovered that my hard drive was bad. I replaced it and all is fine now. I used GSmartControl to inspect the drive.

We have 2 SG230 in Active/passive mode and I had to restart the httpd and get the web amin back online. still dont know why the crash heppens. so I think I should dive deeper in the logs.
