I can't get the static IPs to take in my UTM

I received a block of static IPs from Century Link.  I add the GW IP to the UTM external interface and change the notation to /29, but the UTM changed it back to /32 and I can't get past that.  I can get more information if you need it, just tell me what would help.

Thank you.

  • You can't add IPs to a UTM interface like that.  Add the first to the interface, then setup the remaining ones on the Additional Addresses Tab.

  • Sorry for the delay.  I have a block of three IPs.  I plugged one of those IPs into the UTM interface and changed the network to /29 and saved it.  I left Default GW checked.  It then placed the interface into a down status and it won't "reconnect".  Looking at the interface, it shows the wrong default GW.  There doesn't seem to be a place for me to enter the GW that I need.  That's why I tried the static route.  I've entered statics on different UTMs before as an MSP but this is the first time I have tried to use Sophos to do that.  All of the other ones have IP Address, Subnet mask, and Default GW>  Sophos has IP address and subnet which is why I'm pretty confused about this.  After I tried that, I tried entering the GW that I received as the external WAN IP address and it still isn't working.

  • 1)  Add as an /32, which is the correct CIDR notation for a single IPv4 IP.  Not strictly necessary, but it is the correct way of doing things.

    2)  Is the interface Type Ethernet or Ethernet Static (depending on version)?  Once you put a checkmark in the Default GW checkbox, a text input box should appear, allowing you to add the ISPs default GW IP.  Do not put the ISP GW address as the address of your external interface.
