Transparent Mode + SSO Password Prompt

I have Transparent Mode with Active Directory SSO enabled but my workstations are getting a Windows Security login prompt when trying to access the web (Internet Explorer 11). The prompt says "Connecting to utm.ad.domain.com" and seems to be popping up for every single connection that the web page is making. I can enter the user credentials each time and eventually the page will fully load and the password prompts cease for that page. If I close the browser and reopen it, the prompt appears again but this time not for connecting to the UTM but connecting to a URL associated with the website... at this point, the user credentials are invalid and after 3 or 4 attempts, the UTM page appears "Access Denied - Authentication Failed".

I have added the UTM's FQDN to the Local Intranet Zone Sites and have selected "Automatic logon only in Intranet zone".

What am I missing?

  • You can un-join simply by using bad credentials in 'Active Directory Single-Sign-On (SSO)'.  Then, just re-join normally.
