Find What device is using bandwidth?

Is there a way to determine what device on my network is using up all of my bandwidth? Periodically I have a device that seems to be using 3/4 of my bandwidth for a several hours. Is there a way for me to find what device it is?

  • From the command line interface run iftop -i eth0. Look what IP address is first on the list, how much traffic is generating and what is the destination.

  • Can this be determined (say it happened yesterday) through the reports/logs?  My situation is after reviewing Executive Reports, I see and can determine where the 15Gb came from but can't determine where it went (inside my network).  It is BITS not HTTP so it doesn't show in Web Protection reports...

    Thanks in advance.
