List of Mime Type for Executable content Filter in SMTP Malware Protection

We're reevaluating the Configuration for Mime Type Filter blocking for Mails and would like to know which Mime-Types are listed in "Quarantaine executable content"

I've tried to search it in the Administrators handbook, but i couldn't find any information about this.

It just shows "e.g. exe". Is there a list? Will it be updated over time?

Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Hi, Daniel, and welcome to the UTM Community!

I've just assumed that it was anything of type application, including all subtypes.  If you want to ensure that's the case, you can just add a block for application/*.

  • Thanks for the Reply!

If this is true, it would block many file types that has nothing to do with "Executables" like Certs, Office files.
My Test Shows, that These files are getting through the Mailfilter.

Is there a way to check the filter in a config file on the Appliance? Else i'll have to test them by my own.

    Regards:

    Daniel

  • Rather than jumping into that, Daniel, get a ticket opened with Sophos Support and then come back and share what you learn from them.
