Does anyone have POP3 antivirus Proxy Working

I need to deploy V5 with transparent POP3 virus screening.  DOES THIS WORK in 5.010?  Does ayone have it working.  Is there anyone who can not get it to work?  I know there is a lot of info in the forum but all of it says different things.

    Welll, it worked all day.  At 6:00 PM it had stopped.  I Restarted the proxy and it works fine again.  Is there a way to write a cron tab that will restart the proxy service every hour until they have it fixed?

    I removed entries from the file extension filter since it has bugs to see if this fixes the problem.  Right now I have Virus on, Spam off, no file or expression filters.  POP3 permissions are for internal network to go anywhere.  I removed the default any any rule.  I will update shortly

    Yep,
    Well you are all right.  it worked for a few hours, stopped viruses and then died.  Disabled, I could telnet to port 110 no problem.  I renabled it and it worked again. I am sure it will die again. I have called support and will try to work with them so we can get this updated.  Thanks for everyones help.

    I have downgraded to 4.022 for that reason. The POP is definately not to be relied on at least up to 5.010! Still I can't wait to upgrade again, because we loved the SPAM protection...

    the chance of fialure/working is sitll about 50/50 even with spam off.  Some folks like me and a few others have issues witht he pop3 proxy just dying by itself or locking up when faced with larger attahcments.  Sometimes just with the pop3 proxy on it just dies.

    Ok - If it stops working does pop stop completely? i can live with out the antivirus for another 30 days and wait for it to be fixed.  What if I do not use the spam option and just antivirus.  If I have a rule allowing pop out ill it bypass the proxy if it stop responding?

    I have it running on my home system, but wouldn't deploy it in any of our four production servers because of problems mentioned elsewhere with the POP3 proxy.

    I have recently reverted to Version 4 for two clients who had experienced intermittent problems with V5 including 5.010 to the extent that they were not able to rely upon the POP proxy.
    I would not be prepared to recommend it at this point in time.
