ASL V5006 SMTP PROXY NOT LET ME SEND EMAIL

I am a newbie so please be easy on me.

First i set up all the proxies and the NAT.

The NAT is in masquerade.

The http proxie is in transparent mode
The pop3 proxie has virus and spam scan enabled

I don't have an internal mail server. All my mail servers are hosted. How do I set up the smtp proxie to scan and then deliver my mail to the outside smtp server.

Everything else works great.

Also I set up the packet filtering to allow all packets out of internal network to external network.

Please help

    Astaro SMTP proxy is really to proxy mail to an internal mail server.

    Not much point in scanning your own mail you are sending.

    You can use the SMTP proxy as a relay provided DNS proxy is running.  Ensure you only allow your internal network to connect to it.

    Its easy to set ASL as your outgoing mailserver.  Go to Proxies/SMTP.
    Under the section outgoing mail, enable 'Use Smarthost'.
    Enter the details for your external/ISP mailserver i.e. IP address, username and password (if required).
    Configure your local email client to send mail via SMTP to your ASL IP address.

    Your ASL box should now accept mail from your internal clients, process it and forward it to your ISP mailserver.

    Simple !

    thanks but i need to be able to access multiple smtp servers. Is there a way to forward all smtp traffic out to the internet?

    if you mean to add more smarthosts then that´s interresting me, too.

    If you just want ASL to distribute your emal to whichever destination server it is addressed to, then you can just turn of the "use smarthost" option and ASL will attempt to deliver mail directly to the server.

    Be aware that your ISP may be blocking port 25 , and if your ASL has an IP that is in a dynamic IP block, even if it is actually static, then many email servers will not accept mail from you.

    so how to handle the situation if you have more gmx or other accounts and want to use the asl smtp proxy. 
    example
    for xx@gmx.net -> aslproxy use smarthost mail.gmx.net
    for xx@yahoo.com -> alsproxy use smarthost mail.yahoo.com

    and so on.............

    is this possible to teach the smtp proxy to use different smarthosts for different senders

    Not in the webmin no. It might be possible by changing the exim.conf fiile but i'm not sure.

    The way I do it is I use exchange to route the emails out to different smarthosts as I know it can do that.

    Just out of morbid curiosity, why would you want to use multiple smarthosts anyway ?

    like i told before, it would be nice bacause then i would be able to send without problems to t-online, aol and etc.
    so they wouldn´t handle them as spam.

    guys thank for all of your input.

    And the smarthost thing works great.

    For multiple smtp servers hosted by your isp or hosting company you can add the smtp's ip address in the webadmin smtp proxy, smart host. Separating the ip's with a semicolon. ;

    eg: 56.72.99.100; 66.234.99.104; 66.35.2.100

    now at the client side you are going to have to enter the ip of the asl box for your smtp server. The smtp proxy is not transparent like  the pop3 proxy.

    This cleared it all up. Thank you again for all your efforts.

    on a side not if anybody can help me with my spam settings for pop3 proxy, seeing as I dont host a smtp mail server.
