IMAP UTM

Hi all,

we are using an exchange 2016 on premise and a Sophos UTM 9.707-5.
We want to realize that external clients can connect to their mailboxes via IMAP but not sure how to do that. Do we need to setup WAF for this or is it only possible via port forwarding (DNAT).

Thanks in advance and greetings

  • Hello,

WAF = Web Appplication Firewall. This means, only Web-Protocols are supported (Port 80 and 443).

For IMAP you need tcp port 143 and IMAPS needs tcp port 993.

You will need a DNAT configuration for this.

What is your usecase? Do you need to support non-windows clients?

Mit freundlichem Gruß, best regards from Germany,
