UTM Version 9.353-4 Released

I received email notifications about the 9.353-4 update this morning. It appeared on both of my UTMs this morning. One is supported hardware and the other is a virtual machine at home. I have not installed the update yet. I am waiting to see if others (who are braver than me) report any serious issues.

I have learned that Sophos UTM updates go out in phases. Your UTM may not have the update available yet. I have seen a gap of several weeks between when an update appears on my home UTM and when it appears on the hardware UTM.

Moderators: Feel free to edit the subject of this thread to add "Do not install!" if it seems appropriate. I won't complain. Hopefully this is a good, solid release.

Other forum members: Please comment here if you have installed the 9.353-4 update. Please share your experiences (good and bad) here. Thanks!

  • It appears to work fine, no problem yet on lab instances; will wait a bit before pushing to customers.

  • Exec. reports working/rendering right? Along with the flow monitor?

  • Installed today at home. No issues so far. Flow monitor works, haven't seen any back end connection errors. Exec reports generate correctly.
  • I can confirm. Flowmonitor is working again! ;)

  • I've updated 9.353004 at four customers. No problem yet.
  • Updated one UTM so far at my home and up to now no problems and earlier problems introduced in 9.352 seem to be gone now.

  • Updated my SG310 Cluster at work without any problems.

  • Updated at home six hours ago, with no problems since then. Unless new problems develop, I plan to update the hardware UTM 120 at the office over the weekend.
  • I went from 9.351-3 to upgrading to latest version to 9.353-4 via "update to latest version now" I am now seeing the back end connection error if I have the flow monitor open (which now remains empty) and change to another link in the console. When I did the update all I saw it upgraded to Version 9.352-6 and then Version 9.353-4. Does one have to upgrade in order and can one skip 9.352-6? Since this is a VM I took a checkpoint before upgrading so was fairly quick to roll back 9.351-3.
  • Ok so I discovered that if I select the newest of the firmware updates it still installs 9.352.6 so went end ended up trying the upgrade again after rolling back to earlier checkpoint. No back end disconnection pop up but flow monitor stays empty, I tried on several different workstations and all had same issue (also deleted all browser cache etc). I then decided to try a different browser version and using MS edge all seems to be working fine thus far. So maybe some browser compatibility with IE 11 not sure but I am content with that solution (using Edge instead of IE 11)
