Problem to initiate LTE connection

Hello,

i have a problem to build up an LTE connection with my Huawei E3372.

The stick is in modemmode and works with the utm and telekom sim card.

When i change the simcard to another provider, it doesn't work.

I think the problem is that the provider doesn't need a username & password and uses auth-chap-md5

Everytime the utm tries to establish the connection i'm getting the following log entries:

2020:11:23-12:23:56 utm pppd[5273]: Script /usr/sbin/chat -v -e -f /etc/chat/REF_IntPppBackup -r /tmp/REF_IntPppBackup finished (pid 5286), status = 0x0

i tried to change the config in var/chroot-ppp/etc/ppp/options and var/chroot-pptp/etc/ppp/options-default, but everything i tried didn't work.

Is it possible that the utm is not supporting the auth anymore which is using the provider (chap-md5)?

best regards

hans

  • Bok Hans and welcome to the UTM Community!

I don't know how to solve this.  Perhaps your provider can change your account to work with username and password.  Let us know if that was possible...
