Add new nic to UTM under esxi

Hi Everyone,

unfortunately If i add a new interface under esxi virtual machine. configuration, the utm will mix the network interfaces and add a new one named “rename4”.

What is the best and secure way to add additional nic if the utm is running under esxi 6.5

Thanks

T

  • Szia Tamás,

You might want to post this question in an ESXi forum, but there's a trick that allows you to change the NIC order in the UTM.  As root at the command line:

    edit /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

If you need help with edit, look for instructions on using the vi editor.

    Any luck with that?
