Can't get smarthost to work

Hi everyone, having a problem getting smarthost to work so that I can receive notifications and daily reports. I have tried to setup both Google and Comcast using port 465 without luck. Any ideas how to troubleshoot? Is there something else I am missing?

  • 465 is the default port for SSL secured SMTP. Afaik the UTM doesn't support this. You might try with port 25 and checkbox "Use TLS", if you need a secured connection to your smarthost.

  • Comcast has blocked the use of port 25 but turns out 587 still works for non-SSL logins. Working now...
  • 587 still works for non-SSL logins.

That's what I would have suggested next... [:)]
    Glad to hear it works.
