I installed v17.0.0 Beta-1 onto a Sophos XG105 firewall via USB boot
During the install, the firewall did not have internet access, so I skipped registration, the install was completed with the default 172.16.16.16 ip address
On finishing the installation, I changed the IP address of the system to a local address and rebooted the firewall.
Once restarted, I added in a manual static gateway and DNS entries.
Then browsed to backup & firmware -> Firmware and went to click on download. On clicking on it, a message was displayed about the unit not being registered.
The web page refreshed (or I clicked on control center) and I was then presented with a dialog that there was a new Beta-2 available for download.
I clicked on download, and it downloaded the firmware. (hence the inconsistent behaviour title to the thread).
This should either not allow download via the web interface or allow it, not a combination of both.
Once the Beta-2 firmware was downloaded the button offered to install the firmware. On clicking this, it did not install.
If I browsed away from the Firmware page and back, it now has a greyed out download button (hence the odd behaviour title to the thread).
I then logged off, logged back on, registered the device. Logged off and on again and was prompted to update.
The device then downloaded the firmware again and installed it correctly this time.
This process should be cleaned up so that it either downloads and updates, or does not. It shouldn't download and then not update.
