BUG? - WAN QoS limiting LAN Zones as well

Hi Sophos-Team,

it might not be a new bug in v18, however I noticed the following problem now:

My internal LAN interfaces in different LAN zones are also limited to the "Total available WAN bandwidth" when I'm using doing performance tests from LAN zone to LAN zone:

I set the value to 19200 KB/s as I have a 100/50 mbit WAN connection. All transfers from LAN to LAN are limited to ~130mbit/s (I'm using a WiFi connection right now).

When I raise the WAN bandwidth to the maximum of 2560000 KB/s, I can easily reach 200mbit over WiFi for inter-LAN traffic.

All my other traffic shaping settings are only for small amounts of bandwidth guarantees per device, so there are no other limits set anywhere.

it's just a simple rule with User based traffic shaping for port 6789/tcp (UniFi SpeedTest).

Hi Dom,

thank you. Where are you applying the bandwidth policies? On internal the upload/download are reversed because it is the sending and receiving on the interface.

Hi Dom,

I am a bit confused, that policy when applied in the clientless user authentication will apply to all activities regardless of LAN to LAN or LAN to WAN.

Hi Ian,

yes I think that‘s okay as I‘m setting the guaranteed bandwidth with this setting only.

The problem is, that the generic WAN Limit of 19200 KB/s is applied to LAN-to-LAN traffic as well.
