Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition on XG Hardware?

you can do this, but you will need to search the XG forums to learn how to disable the XG appliance settings so you can install your home licence. I think you might need a special video adapter as well, you might ask the company you are buying it from?

You can.  You would buy the box without an enterprise license and register you Home License on it instead.

If you have an older computer laying around, you can use that instead.  Just add a second NIC and a 60GB SSD (if you don't already have 2 network cards or an SSD drive installed).  Then install the Sophos Home software.

Thanks, :) the im looking at getting "XG 105 FullGuard with Enhanced Support - 12 MOS" as it comes with the license as a promotion, once the license is up can i not just register my home license too it?

Yes, once the license period ends, you can roll back to Home.  The licensing at Sophos is affordable and very forgiving.  You may find yourself buying another 2-3 years.

If you are using the firewall box as an Access Point (through the built in antenna system), I would get the XG 125w as it has AC.  If not or if you are using the firewall box as a Wi-Fi controller of external APs, then the the XG 105 will be fine.

If you are purchasing a commercial licence, then yes. A home licence does not expire.

The Base License in Commercial license also does not expire. 

All Subscriptions will expire. 

Home License does not expire.
