AD Authentication search queries appear to not support CNs

I have been attempting to set up User Portal and SSL VPN access on our XG310.

However, when setting up a query for the domain, no users appear to be returned when using a Common Name. For example, I have made myself a member of the "SSL VPN" group, and when I set my query to the following, I am unable to login to the portal:

CN=SSL VPN,OU=Application Permission Groups,OU=Security Groups,DC=Domain,DC=local

When I change my query to simple use an OU, things work as expected:

OU=Users,DC=Domain,DC=local

I found a different post on these forums, indicating that using a CN in the query was not supported. However that was nearly 6 months ago. I would expect this to be a blocker, not being able to use CNs with any kind of AD integration is an enormous shortcoming.
