Cant send email to a specific domain

Hi,

Running Exchange 2013, going through a XG210 running 16.01.1 using MTA

I have had no reports of any other issues sending email apart from this one.

When sending mail to a specific domain, the exchange server bounces back with this.

I have done a search, and cant see anything that stands out and all other email outbound seems fine.

Rich,

Connect to cli > use options 5 > option 3 and then tail -f /bar/tslog/awarren_mta.log (I am not sure about the log name,sorry I am out of office). Use cd /car/tslog and then type ls to list the folder content. Inside the mta log you should be able to view logs. Send an email and see if inside the log there is something interesting.

Will have to take a look sometime, but thanks for the guidance.

I decided to turn MTA off this afternoon, there were lots of anomalies starting to creep in today. We started not getting emails from some places, but nothing showing in the logs I knew about at the ime.

The issue with the domain in original post has been there since MTA was turned on last week, and that had been the only problem, but today other things started going wrong so decided enough was enough. From that moment, emails I was expecting with MTA on but didnt show, then started showing up.

I have asked Sophos support if they have proper documentation yet for MTA in 16.01.1

I would really like to use MTA to shield my mail servers if I can, but it doesnt seem right.

Had Sophos Tech support on the phone, apparently there is an issue with MTA when sending or receiving email from domains with numbers in the domain name.

eg. anything@email.com OK, anything@email1.com not ok

Its now been escalated within Sophos.
