BTW...what's the purpose of having Labels, beside of Names? And not forget we also have Description of each device.

note that you can only set the label for the currently active HA Node, at the time, when it's in the primary role. Would be nice, if Sophos improves that and allows us to set a label also for the HA auxiliary node without the need to do a failover.

LuCar Toni , that was brilliant! Label from Central Management actually translates to DEVICE column in Central Alerts log! Weird, not logical, but it works! Probably it is a glitch in programming web interface, but thank you for pointing that out, now I can see much easier, what is happening where.

The Label will only be a cosmetic addon to the firewall management - It is not changing the configuration or anything on your Firewall.

But it helps to better navigate.

Hmmm....I did so for 3 firewalls for test, but still in Central under Alerts and Logs "DEVICE" column is shown only as serial number:

It took me some 10 minutes to find out, where to add a label. But this is now becoming more and more confusing. I have:

firewall FQDN, set for each firewall and also SSL certificate bind to that name, which is different than...
firewall NAME, set at firewall level, which might be different than...
firewall NAME IN CENTRAL, which must be different than...
firewall LABEL in central firewall management

....but adding a LABEL seems does not influence firewall name in LOGS and ALERTS pages, where under DEVICE column it is still shown by serial number only.

Did you try to give the firewall a label? You can give a label in Central Firewall.

I added Interface IP as a DNs host entry, which is already registered in public DNS for all my firewalls (so I do not need to remember their IPs). Let's wait and see what Central will do...
