I need to set up my v20 OS firewall in active-passive mode. I've already done some configuration, but I'm facing issues with automatic failover due to using "Any" in the NAT rule. Can you provide a straightforward solution using SD-WAN or WAN Link

RE: Multi-WAN Active/Passive configuration

Hello Kiran,

You may try to follow this document guide for RBVPN, which could be a similar fit for your use case: https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/21.0/help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/AdministratorHelp/SiteToSiteVPN/HowToArticles/S2sVPNRouteBasedWithISPsConfigure/index.html

RE: Multi-WAN Active/Passive configuration

Hi,

This is related to an active/passive gateway setup, not High Availability (HA). When I use "Any" in the NAT rule, the site-to-site VPN tunnel does not switch over to the backup gateway. Please advise.

RE: Multi-WAN Active/Passive configuration

Hello Kiran,

By "active-passive," do you mean you are on an HA setup? Or do you mean you have one active gateway and one link as a backup link?

Also, could you share the specific error you're encountering? And what you’re trying to achieve on the setup.

Meantime, here are the doc guides that could help you set up:

SDWAN: https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/21.0/help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/AdministratorHelp/Routing/SDWANRoutes/RoutingConfigureSDWANRoutesBOHOCloudApps/index.html

WAN Link Manager (Active/Backup Link): https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/21.0/help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/AdministratorHelp/Network/WANLinkManager/index.html

Regards,
