Firewall Management - Firewalls - No firmware is available - Device is up to date

Hey Folks,

some of our XGS FWs have reported by mail, a new firmware update would be available for download/installation.

Central instead isnt reporting anything, and still shows firewall is up to date. Even when i upload the firmware file manually and wait some days, there is neither any note.

Why is central not reporting available updates, even if they are available on FW or already loaded/pre-installed on the device? This makes it impossible to schedule the installation/reboot of the device.

  • Uploading a File to Sophos Central is not the same as starting an U2D Process. 

    Uploading the file actually replace and starts already the update process.

    Central is doing UP2Date from the beginning - So if the firewall is in the right staging process, it sees the firmware under "New Firmware available" usually Central also reports the same for this firewall.

    Only in this scenario, Central offers to process the firmware update, we are doing this, to honor a staging and not releasing the Firmware Update to all customers at the same time.

    At the same time, customers with the need or urge to update now, can use the SIG file.

  • it seems there has been an issue:

    • NR-13658 - Resolved an issue where Sophos Central Partner didn't show any firmware updates.
