Checking the connection over a long period of time

Hello,

we have two firewalls of the XGS segment connected over a Red tunnel. On one end we have a hardware terminal that is used to take the working times of our employee.

Now we have the situation that every few days the terminals losts connections with the server that's at the other end of the red tunnel and needs a manuel restart.

Is there a way to check the connectivity of the terminal other than doing a ping from the server to the terminal? That'd be my only idea but maybe there is a better way I haven't found yet.

The support of the terminal says, that it's not their error and that it's our network making the issue. However every other device works pretty normal and has no issues so far like clients, AP and more.
