We have intended Video Multicast traffic (beamers, etc) in our network in seperate VLANs. We noticed when AP55C rebooted, their LAN port was flooded with multicast traffic >1Gbit and all connected clients had conectivity issues for about 5 minutes (250sec).
After consulting with a network specialist the AP55C sent an announcement (IGMP query) after their reboot that they want to become a Multicast Router - the switches did what they should do when they receive such an announcement: they sent all multicast traffic to the port where the AP is connected. We did a wireshark dump on the switchport and that file was 12GB after 5 minutes.
